Lama Rangdrol's Visit

I was privileged to meet Lama Rangdrol earlier this year, when he visited the London Buddhist Centre. He was fresh from giving one of the keynote speeches at the Beyond Race and Caste conference in San Francisco.

We had two meetings with him at the LBC. I asked him about how we can spread the Dharma in the Black community and spoke of my concern about the rising number of young people killing each other. Many of these murders happen in South London, and even in my neighbourhood of Camberwell, but mostly in adjoining areas such as Peckham.

Lama Rangdrol said we would need to practice for others who can't do it for themselves. Many of the young Black men he grew up with in Oakland, CA did not make itout of the ghetto alive. Those who did were often too scarred by their experience to be able to explore the life of peace and contemplation which Buddhism can offer.

I was glad to be able to meet an experienced Buddhist who is committed to exploring and demonstrating the relationship Buddhism has to the experience of people of African heritage.

We will be screening Lama Rangdrol's film, "Festival Cancelled Due to Heavy Rain", on Saturday at the LBC. Click here for more details.

Using EFT with Children

One of the great things about using EFT is that we don’t have to tell the therapist what the problem is. EFT still works effectively. We may be too upset or traumatised to talk about what is going on. Or we may feel it is too private and we don’t want to divulge our secrets. Either way, EFT still works.

One benefit of this is that we can use EFT with children. Again, the child may be too upset or frightened to say what the difficulty is. But the child may also not have the language skills yet to be able to describe the problem. EFT can even be used on babies who are too young to talk. It works with animals as well. There is a process called “surrogate tapping” that can be used for this. We can also use it at a distance – if you have a friend or family member who you know is having a difficulty, you can do surrogate tapping for that person.

You can even use it on strangers! I read a great article about tapping for someone who was nervous on a plane. The person doing the tapping did not feel confident to approach the other passenger, but saw the person looking visibly relieved and calmer after a few rounds of EFT.

Using EFT for Financial Abundance

Okay, this is not the best EFT video I have ever seen, but it's interesting that she uses several of the things I talk about in What They Don't Want Us to Know: gratitude, being open and receptive. And it worked! Click here to view the video.

New Review - The Key to Everything

I have just received the most amazing review for my new ebook.

Kristin Peoples, who runs this blog: Weekly Escapes Weblog, has sent me this brilliant review for The Key to Everything:

"Having read a few 'attraction' books, I had an idea in mind of what the book was about, but I was pleasantly surprised. Zhana touches on those principles, but it is so much more. There are real life exercises within this book. Be prepared for CHANGE when you read it. Zhana gives instructions on how to get the most from the book and I followed them. I have to say this book brings the excitement back. As you go through life, you tend to do the same things over and over and wonder why. The book helps you make better choices and shows you how to improve. It doesn't just talk about improving but really helps.

Awesome book. I look forward to the next book topic from Zhana."

This version of the book is for everyone. The version for people of African heritage is called What They Don't Want Us to Know.

Black Parents: A Radical Alternative

My new "Success Strategies" radio show will be dealing with different topics, including Nonviolent Communication.

I was at a community meeting last night, where the speaker was saying it is part of our African heritgage to hit children. I have heard this so many times. The reason why there are so many problems today is that children lack "discipline", meaning they are not hit or beaten.
I think using violence is part of every culture, it's not just an African tradition. Violence is used by every race and every cultural group. When we use violence, we increase the energy of violence in the universe. This is universal wisdom. Look around the world and we can see the consequences of that. And we don't have to look far - it's happening on the streets of London.

I am saying there is a better alternative. Check out my new ebook: What They Don't Want Us to Know.

I am talking about a radically different way of communicating with children - and everybody else. But although it is radically different, it is based on ancient traditions.

Sorry to be controversial, but I am starting as I mean to go on.
